GET THREE BIDS
If you’re thinking of remodeling your home, you should get
at least three bids from companies that
routinely do the type of work you’re seeking.
GET RECOMMENDATIONS
Get recommendations from other homeowners who hired the
contractor you’re considering. Be sure to ask: Would they hire the contractor
again? Were they able to communicate effectively with the contractor when
issues or problems arose?
GET CREDENTIALS
Ask about credentials. Find out if the contractor is
properly licensed and insured, and if he or she has been doing contract work
for at least five years.
